Holcombe, in Chippewa County, is a small community on State Highway 27, about 30 miles north of Eau Claire.

Chippewa County was established in 1848 as one of the original 28 counties of Wisconsin. The name "Chippewa" comes from the Indian word "Ojibwa."

Chippewa County features beautiful wooded scenery and is rich in wildlife and fish. Connected by the Chippewa River to the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico; and north to Lake Superior via the St. Croix and Brule rivers, Chippewa County features some of the best fishing in the country as well as some of the best outdoor recreational adventures!
